We Love PEX

Last night we made a Lowe’s run and picked up some supplies for fixing a pipe leak. When we turned the water on, we noticed that there was a crack in a pipe in the basement. Nothing major, but needed a fix. Nick is no plumber, but you wouldn’t know it to watch him cut and splice PEX, ha! The pipe is probably going to require some more upgrading in the near future, and there seems to be a faulty gasket on one of the toilets, but at least with some red tubing and sharkbite connectors we aren’t actively leaking. The kids loved cavorting about on the mattresses that aren’t on the beds yet while we worked. We have 12 mattresses so far, with a need remaining for 8 more twin mattresses to reach our 20-bed capacity. We also still need to acquire the zipper allergen/bug covers for all 20.

While at Lowe’s we picked up a bunch of smoke detectors and some CO detectors. There are now working smoke detectors in every room and a CO detector on each of the two levels and one in the unoccupied basement for good measure. Two fire extinguishers were on sale and will be on hand for safety!

The little things are coming together!
